The Web of Wyrd Meaning
The Web of Wyrd, also known as the Skuld’s Net, is a symbol based on the Norse concept of fate. Its shape reminds us of the weaving of the fabric, which is linked to how the Norns weaved the Wyrd or destiny of both men and gods. In a way, it shows us that all our actions are interweaved, so whatever we did in our past and present will affect our future.
It is also said that the nine staves in this symbol contain the shape of all runes.
When we look at the origins of the Web of Wyrd, there isn’t a definite answer to where exactly it appeared for the first time. It is most likely of a modern symbol, but a great visual representation of such an abstract concept as fate nonetheless.
